On July 5, 2023, Prof. Delores Robinson (Director of the Department of Geological Sciences, The University of Alabama), Dr. Kathryn Matchalf and her student Jarrod Burges visited the TPESER. Academician Ding Lin, Director of TPESER, together with scientific research backbones of TPESER, participated in this academic exchange.
Prof. Delores Robinson and Dr. Kathryn Matchalf gave lectures entitled "Building the Himalaya" and "Searching for Continental Signals at the Trench", respectively. The two sides discussed the cooperative research on the evolution of Himalayas and crustal tectonic deformation in the Yarlung Zangbo River suture zone, and worked out the follow-up plan for Sino-US joint field scientific expedition and the future cooperation direction.
